The Newtown Soccer Club is pleased to invite you to participate in our Two-Day (girls on Saturday / boys on Sunday) Newtown Memorial Day Tournament to be held on the weekend of May 23-24 (rain date is the 25) 2020. The tournament is a USYSA sanctioned tournament through Connecticut Junior Soccer Association. All teams must be affiliated with the USYSA, US Club or the appropriate national association and must be in good standing. The tournament is open to Classic Teams.
Format and Competition
Divisions are based on USYSA Classic Boys and Girls age groups U9 through U14/U15.
U9-U10 Divisions will play 7v7 and will be allowed a roster of 12 players
U9-U10 Games will be played using the Build Out Line rules which are outlined within the CJSA rules.
U11-U12 Divisions will play 9 v 9 games and will be allowed a roster of 16 players
U13-U14/15 Divisions will play 11 v 11 and will be allowed a roster of 20 players
U9 - U10 games will be 20 minute halves with a 5 minute halftime.
U11-U15 games will be 25 minute halves with a 5 minute halftime.
A maximum of 2 guest players are allowed per team which do not have to be registered with the CJSA.
A minimum of four games is guaranteed.
Girls will play on Saturday May 23rd
Boys will play on Sunday May 24th
Rain date will be Monday May 25th.
U9 – U10 $500 (early bird); $550 (non early bird)
U11 – U15: $500 (early bird); $550 (non early bird)
*Early Bird is for applications received by March 15th
*please note a late fee of $25 will be applied for applications past May 1st.
*Clubs who register 5 teams or more will get a $25 discount per team
Individual awards will be presented to the first place teams in each division U11 and up.
U9/U10 will not be results oriented, and all players in these age groups will receive a participation medal.
A User ID and Password should have been obtained when completing the application. These are used to complete the registration process (if not done in one sitting), to access the online store and to obtain pertinent tournament info. Registration will close on or before May 1, 2020
Please indicate level of play for your team (A, B or C)! This is very important to ensure a competitive environment and good experience for all teams!!!
A level indicates your team competes at the top level of the division you compete in within the CJSA.
B level indicates your team competes in one or two divisions below the top division of your age group within the CJSA
C level indciated your team is competes at the lowest level Divison of the age group within the CJSA

Scores and Schedules
All scores and schedules will be posted using this link.
Fees for the tournament can be paid using a credit card through our registration link. This is a secure link using a professional third party credit card processing company, and Newtown Soccer Club will not receive any details from the transaction other than the name of the person on the card, the amount, and the transaction date.

Please ensure the name of your team is written clearly on the check. If you are paying via check, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to let them know date it was sent.
On Site Registration Forms
Teams will check-in to the tournament online and instructions will be provided once a team has been accepted. Instructions for online registration can be found here. All out of state teams not in Region I and any teams from New Jersey must also submit a permission to travel form. PLEASE email all forms (roster and copies of player passes to email@example.com). Note: The Medical Release Form is now digital and will automatically send to us! Please make sure all is done 2 weeks prior to the tournament. If we do not receive these via email, your team will not be able to play. On-site check-in is simply to note that your team is present.
This tournament requires a certificate of insurance from any non US Youth Affiliate team, evidencing liability and player medical coverage. The minimum liability limits must equal or exceed CJSA’s minimum ($1,000,000) and the minimum excess player medical limits must equal or exceed $25,000.
